Fractals
In mathematics, the concept of fractals is defined by the repetition of shapes and patterns that have similar characteristics at different scales. Fractals are much more than just an abstract idea. They are actually found in nature and range from atoms to galaxies, can be seen in clouds, plants, snowflakes, lightning arcs and in topography.
This series blurs out our sense of scale by focusing on fractals found in the land all around us, a land that can be as small or as big as one's imagination. These images also blur out the lines between photography and other art forms such as sketching and painting, bringing us into a world of mathematics, a world of pure abstracts.
