02/24/16 New blog article on Zeiss Otus lenses testing

For about a month I was extremely fortunate to test two of the best and most impressive lenses for full frame cameras, together with a new tilt/shift adapter meant to mount manual lenses on a mirrorless system.

More specifically, I got to test the HCam Master Tilt Shift adapter together with the Nikon mount Otus 55mm f/1.4 and the yet to be released Nikon mount Otus 28mm f/1.4.

The main purpose of these lenses is admittedly for high-resolution stills and video, I like to do things differently. This is why I spent a few weeks in France testing them, and I was especially interested in seeing how well they would perform with long exposures, or when they are shifted, tilted, and of course how sharp they are wide open.

07/18/14 Sony's Artisan of Imagery

I am thrilled to announce that I am now part of the Sony's Artisan of Imagery Program.

It will basically allow me to use, test and review some of their best and newest gear, and work with a highly select bunch of great artists on specific events or collaborative projects.

What it changes: pretty much nothing! I will now use primarily the Sony A7r body and the exact same lenses I used to. Why? Because their mirrorless system allows for the use of adapters (such as this Metabones guy) and so you can still use ANY lens you had previously, and many more very cool ones such as "old" Medium Format or new hacked ones (link to come).

Oh, and don't worry, I will still keep my head cool and review Sony's stuff impartially whether it's good or bad :)

I'm so excited, keep you posted!

05/30/14 New article on my blog on using Shift lenses

Several people asked me to talk about one of the techniques I use most these days, Tilt Shift Long Exposure. I decided to write a couple articles explaining how it works, and why you might want to use Tilt and/or Shift.

Today I released the first of the series, focusing on SHIFTING the lens. If you are interested in knowing more and seeing some examples, please follow the link:

05/21/14 My new Behind the Scenes BLOG

My new blog is intended to give you a better idea of who I am, what inspires me, how I work, and what my raw material is.

Simply put, to give you a look behind the scenes.

I will show you images of my photography trips, as well as images before and after processing. I will also share some of my feelings about gear that i get to use and test, and give you some of the photo related information that caught my eye.

Please keep in mind that this blog is NOT intended to present exclusively Fine Art pictures, and that the opinions expressed here are worth no more than that of a very enthusiastic (sometimes too much) fine art photographer…

Additionally, I am thinking of offering free critiques of some of my follower’s pictures once in a while. Typically, it would be once a month or so, depending on your interest and my free time.

Please do not hesitate to comment on this and let me know what you’d like to see in my blog!
